In addition to specialist cardiological examination (ECG), Galathea provides detailed heart checkups with the use of a highly advanced ultrasound machine. Ergometry test can also be done on the spot, if it is indicated by cardiologist.

Echocardiographic examination (Color Doppler heart examination) is a sophisticated diagnostic technic, indispensable in modern cardiology. The examination does not involve any previous preparation, and its most common indications include the following:
  • Increased blood pressure and diagnosed changes on the heart
  • Coronary disease and conditions following acute myocard infarction
  • Inborn or developed heart dysfunction
  • Conditions associated with the decline of heart function
  • Cardiac rhythm disorders
  • Suspected presence of thrombotic masses in the heart cavity
  • Inflammatory conditions of myocardium and pericardium
  • Suspected aneurysm of thoracic aorta
  • Increased pressure in pulmonary artery
  • Assessment of cardiac function prior to the application of specific curing procedures (radiation, cytostatic treatment)
At Galathea, patients who have been recommended 24-hour ECG or pressure Holter monitoring can get their complete findings within a single day! The examination also includes laboratory tests, along with the determination of specific enzymes indicating acute heart infarction.

Control checkups throughout the entire course of the patient monitoring and treatment are easily arranged and organized according to the patient’s needs and his or her doctor’s advice.
