At the Galathea Polyclinic, female patients of all ages (from puberty to menopause) can have thorough gynaecological examinations conducted by distinguished experts in this field.

In addition to basic examinations, pap smear and vaginal discarge tests, colposcopy, 4D ultrasound imaging etc., Galathea gynaecologists monitor their patients throughout pregnancy and, in close communication with paediatric cardiologists, ensure its safe, relaxed and straightforward progress.

Ultrasound imaging performed with vaginal sonde is used to monitor the progress of the growing fetus and a safe delivery. Gynaecological ultrasound imaging is indicated in the following cases:
  • Suspected pathological conditions and their monitoring
  • Womb myomas, ovarian tumours, inflammatory conditions, intrauterine devices, endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, trophoblastic tumours, uterine anomalies, genital aplasia or hypoplasia
  • Conditions deemed as unfavourable on palpatory examination
  • Abdominal muscle rigidity, tension due to painful sensitivity or obesity, limited body mobility, virgo intacta, vaginal stricture in elderly patients, patients with vulval burns
  • Monitoring of physiological processes (endometrium proliferation, follicle development, ovulation detection)
  • Early and late postoperative complications in the lesser pelvic region
  • Pregnancy diagnosis and monitoring, fetus development monitoring
